Inkerbos Game Lodge (“Inkerbos”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and your rights under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). It applies to inkerbos.co.za.

1. Information we collect

  • Enquiry details you give us via our forms — your name, email, contact number, country, party size, preferred dates, the package you’re interested in, and your message or species list.
  • Technical data automatically logged by our hosting, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, used to keep the site secure and working.

We don’t ask for more than we need, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a tailored quote.
  • To arrange and manage your booking, hunt, or stay.
  • To keep records and comply with our legal obligations.
  • To protect the website against spam and abuse.

We process your information on the basis of your consent and to take steps at your request before entering into a booking. We don’t use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

3. Third-party services

A few trusted third parties help this site function. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:

  • Google reCAPTCHA — protects our forms and the phone-reveal from bots.
  • Google Maps — shows the farm location via an embedded map.
  • Open-Meteo — supplies the on-farm weather widget (no personal data sent).
  • Facebook — we link to our page; we don’t embed tracking pixels.

To reduce exposure to bots, we deliberately keep our phone number out of the page source until you pass a quick verification.

4. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the lodge and this site (for example our email and hosting providers, or a shipping agent for trophies), and where required by law.

5. Cookies

This site uses only the cookies needed to function and to run the third-party services above (such as reCAPTCHA and the Maps embed). We don’t use advertising trackers.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking information only for as long as needed to assist you and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which it is securely deleted.

7. How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure, including transport encryption (HTTPS) and restricted access. No website can be perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or object to its processing. To do so, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
